At Montagu Evans we’re passionate about delivering new homes via public estate optimisation and are delighted that round 2 of the Brownfield Land Release Fund (BLRF2) has been released. The deadline for applications is 23:59 19th August 2022, and all applications must be made via OPE Partnerships.
The key principles of the BLRF are as follows:
- The purpose of the fund is to unlock local authority owned land for housing, both mainstream and self and custom-build.
- The land must show some form of market failure, for example a viability gap leading to no market interest.
- BLRF is capital funding and can be invested in projects such as remediation, new access, and demolition.
Montagu Evans have the expertise and capacity to support English local authorities across the country with their applications. The fund will provide much needed housing for local authorities and assist in improving a community’s sense of place bringing to life redundant land.
