Montagu Evans has further strengthened its Rating Advisory team with the appointment of Bruce Wilson as Partner and plans to grow its occupational advisory services.

Formerly Managing Director of GL Hearn, before which he headed its rating business, Bruce has over 30 years of experience managing some of the UK’s largest portfolios and liabilities, including as Head of Professional Services (and Rating) at Tesco and Head of Rating at the airport group BAA.

He joins Montagu Evans’ 50-strong, UK-wide Rating team to provide strategic advice and practical support to the partnership’s growing roster of occupier clients, working closely with valuation, transactional and other services within the business.

Josh Myerson, Partner at Montagu Evans and head of its Rating Advisory team, said:  “Bruce is a leading advisor in this specialist area, with significant experience providing high-level guidance through direct engagement with regulatory bodies and supporting industry initiatives as well as understanding and responding to clients’ current needs.

“He joins the team to support our planned growth in the occupier market, and his ability to operate within the largest and most complex corporate and operational environments across a range of sectors complements our existing skillset very well.

Bruce Wilson, Partner at Montagu Evans, added: “Ratepayers increasingly need long-term strategic advice to allow them to navigate the existing system, understand and respond to future initiatives and influence longer-term change.

“Having worked on some of the UK’s largest portfolios I’m acutely aware that strong, embedded client advisor relations are critical to achieving these objectives and look forward to working closely with the wider Montagu Evans team to support its focus on client growth. The partnership’s focus on technical excellence, together with its emphasis on culture and collaboration, is critical to delivering what clients need.
