Tom is a Chartered Town Planner providing specialist advice to both private and public sector clients on a range of challenging town planning projects across Central London. Tom has experience working across a range of sectors including offices, town centre/retail regeneration, residential, EIA-scale development, education, and healthcare.
His responsibilities include strategic planning strategy advice, the co-ordination of project teams, reviewing and inputting into design development, preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals, day-to-day management of projects, negotiation of legal agreements and proactive engagement with interested parties.
Tom’s specialism lies in providing commercially focused planning advice to clients with dated office and retail assets, exploring opportunities for their retrofit, repurposing or redevelopment to maximise value and avoid obsolescence in light of ever strengthening climate and sustainability policies.
He has strong expertise in heritage policy and legislation and regularly advises on schemes where there is a complex interplay between maximising development value whilst minimising harm to heritage assets. He regularly works on schemes involving Grade I assets, including advising many private country estates on their aspirations to deliver economic and environmentally sustainable estates for the long-term.
