Key information
Outline consent for up to 2,929 homes, plus floorspace for 8,000sqm class B, 280,000sqm class C 22,000sqm class E, 6,000sqm class F (library and learning centre), 8,300sqm sui generis, a 5,300sqm public park and 3,500sqm public square.
The site is located within a conservation area and adjacent to several statutorily and locally listed buildings. The design team had to balance these sensitivities with the need for transformative change in the area to deliver the regeneration benefits identified in the development plan.
In addition to the preparation of a Built Heritage, Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment in support of the application, we provided strategic advice in relation to the character of the townscape and setting of heritage assets in the wider area. The scheme went through several iterations of the local Design Review Panel. That scheme was approved at committee. The application was consented in 2022.
